Can Meditation Bring Good Luck?

Can Meditation Bring Good Luck?

We all want to be luckier, but luck is often outside of our control, or isn’t it? Many meditators see a correlation between meditating a lot and having increased luck.

And of course, just because something correlates doesn’t mean it’s causation. However, I would say from my own experience that with meditation, you won’t need any luck because it’s almost as if you can create it.

Before discovering the power of meditation, many wish they had more luck or were in better circumstances.

But being in an unfavorable circumstance can actually put you ahead of someone that you perceive as lucky, as you learn to work things out from scratch which better equips you to deal with that same situation should it ever happen again.

Not to mention the sense of fulfillment that comes with overcoming challenges despite being dealt a bad card.

Of course, ideally, we’d have no bad cards dealt to us, and anything we want to accomplish that we normally attribute luck to would be a walk in the park.

This is more to shine a light on the perspective that starting from a less advantageous position and implementing meditation along the way can strengthen someone’s spirit, willpower, and focus.

Creating Your Own Luck

Meditation on a consistent basis can improve your performance on anything that you do outside of meditation. Not to mention how addictive meditation can feel, but it’s a “good addiction” that’s meant to improve your life, even when meditation in itself isn’t addictive. The keyword here is “feel”.

Meditating for a while gets you used to be more self-reliant, instead of depending on external factors such as luck.

The less you chase luck, the more likely it is to come if you focus on what you can do to move forward in what you want to do.

It’s a bit like a numbers game – the more you do something, the more you increase your chances of achieving that one thing you’re after. Luck would often tag along, once you run out of times to fail. It’s a bit like brute-forcing your way to victory.

And fortunately, you wouldn’t get discouraged if you get used to not being dependent on the result but instead, enjoy the journey along the way. It’s an underrated way to fabricate your own luck out of thin air, and you’ll often see that the results that you attain through consistency often mimic the ones that people attribute to luck.

But the best part is that it’s fully within your control, how much you want to meditate, If you want to meditate, and whether you want to meditate. The same can’t be said about luck, which to this day, is still being studied.

Considering there’s no mathematical formula to luck, or some magic programming language or movement you’d do in a video game that would magically get you achievements, you might as well use what’s available to you through consistency and discipline to strengthen it more.

Laser Focus vs. Luck

You are already aware that many attribute their achievements to luck. But what if you run out of luck? You can’t perpetually be lucky, because you can’t decide for luck to be with you all the time.

However, that same thing you attributed luck to could’ve instead come from your skill, dedication or discipline.

The more focused you are on the task at hand, the better the output is gonna be, and conversely, the more skilled you’re gonna become. Luck and meditation can perfectly go hand in hand, but they don’t have to.

Simply laser focusing on the task at hand you’re doing will get you ahead of someone who doesn’t and will increase your likelihood of luck. Now, luck doesn’t just have to manifest in something you’re doing at the time.

You could be lucky enough to win the lottery, but statistically speaking, a majority of those who end up winning the lottery end up losing it all and end up in a worse spot than where they were before they won the lottery.

It’s a bit like getting all the achievements in a game, without enjoying the journey or completing the quests leading to progress.

It takes away all the fun, and there’s usually a strong sense of fulfillment with pursuit, which is something you can get from meditation, but it’d be hard to say the same about luck, because of how unpredictable luck is.

Meditating a Lot and Being Lucky

As I mentioned before, there’s a strong correlation between meditating a lot and being lucky. And I’d presume that it’s because many underestimate what they can achieve or take away credit from themselves only to attribute it to something they can’t control.

I personally believe luck is more likely to show up the more we meditate because it’s almost like a bonus that complements what we are already doing to progress towards a fulfilling direction.

Meditation calms down your mind and lets you be in the present moment, which often alleviates stress and anxiety and paves the path towards walking towards achievement, and for the obstacles that show up along the way, we start seeing them as necessary tests to become our best versions.

Our minds and environments constantly test us in one way or another, but it’s on us to choose our response to it. If, even then, luck doesn’t show up, it usually means that we aren’t ready for it, need the luck, and sometimes, a combination of both.

Luck is a bad teacher of progress because we can’t replicate luck, but we certainly can replicate how consistent we are with meditation.

Of course, luck is great whenever it happens, but very unpredictable and it helps to treat it as such to not have misplaced expectations and be able to move forward amid “bad luck”. Instead, using meditation to re-engineer the bad luck and turn it into a stepping stone for greatness.

There’s nothing quite like working around problems you’re facing and finding creative solutions that emanate from the wisdom within.

Don’t forget that meditation opens up your mind to new opportunities many would otherwise ignore, it gives you kind of like a sixth sense, which some would consider pretty lucky on its own.

Final Thoughts

As much as luck is nice to have and comes a long way in helping us achieve what we set our minds to, even sometimes manifesting out of nowhere, luck is not something we can control.

Meditation on its own is enough to make us feel happier and more fulfilled, without needing to rely on external factors, and those external factors that manifest along the way, such as luck, usually amplify with meditation, since we set the framework with good habits and discipline.

However, if you add meditation to your daily routine, you’re likely to see a strong correlation between luck and meditation.

What you’ve built from within thanks to the practice is not something that can ever be taken away from you. But all in all, the only way you can truly experience the true benefits of meditation relative to you is by doing it, not just reading about it.

I could tell you all day long why you should meditate, but it’s ultimately in your hands to pick up the practice and monitor the changes. Luck becomes less relevant the more self-sufficient you become.
